We are working on obtaining 501(c)3 federal Non-Profit status. The application process is lengthy and requires a LOT of information, planning documents, and approved charters and by-laws. Our Board of Directors will be working this month on getting the final drafts approved of many of these documents and we hope to have the application reviewed officially by our legal counsel.
I have been in contact with a couple of organizations/groups/law schools to assist us with both trademark submission and the non-profit application over the past few weeks. None of these have really worked out as they require a bit of $$ up front before they will even consider reviewing what we got.
So, with a bit of luck and work we will be on our way to legitimate status shortly.
Thanks for visiting the new site and helping share our ideas and belief that brewing should be for everyone!
